Brad prepares for the big game by making a perfect pulled pork! Trust us when we say you’ll want to learn how to make this incredible pork butt; which we love to put on our game day nachos! 🏈

Instructions

  1. Trim your pork belly
    • Cut the excess fat off of your pork butt and round off your edges.
  2. Season
    • Apply a generous coat of yellow mustard to the top of your pork butt to act as a binder for your seasonings.
    • Transfer your pork onto a wire rack inside of a foil baking pan, not much larger than your chosen cut of meat.
    • Liberally apply your Smoke ’n Magic Pork Rub. 
    • The second coat is a lighter application of Smoke ’n Magic Rib Rub.
  3. Smoke
    • Let sit for about 20 minutes and then smoke at 325° for 2-3 hours.
    • When you can touch the bark of your meat and none comes off, you know it’s time for your wrap! 
  4. Wrap
    • Transfer your meat to a second foil pan that has yet to be used, and apply one stick of butter on each end.
    • Cover the entire top with our Smoke ’n Magic Southern Twang BBQ Sauce.
    • Follow with a layer of pure maple syrup and a generous sprinkling of Sugar in the Raw. We use this instead of brown sugar specifically because of the high temperatures we’re cooking at. You can’t put enough of this sugar on!
    • Wrap this gorgeous creation in a nice tin foil covering and place it back in your pit until it reaches an internal temperature of 210°
  5. Shred your Pork Butt
    • Once you’ve removed your pork butt from the smoker, go ahead and transfer it to a third foil baking pan. An easy way to know it’s done? The blade bone should come out clean. It then becomes the perfect tool to shred your pork with!
