Learn to cook a good eatin’ rib that’ll impress your friends and family! Brad shows off his technique for mouth-watering Baby Back Ribs from start to finish.

Ingredients:

1-3 racks of ribs (we prefer Prairie Fresh)

Smoke’n Magic Pork Rub

Smoke’n Magic Southern Twang BBQ Sauce

Smoke ’n Magic Spicy BBQ Sauce

Aluminum Foil

Kerrygold Butter

Agave

Sugar in the Raw

Instructions

  • Prepare your ribs
    • Remove the membrane from the bottom of the ribs. Brad’s method: Taking a butter knife, slide it under the membrane to loosen it, then slide your fingers into the hole you made and pull it off of the ribs entirely. Use a paper towel for a better grip if you need to!
    • Remove any excess meat and round off any hard edges to make your ribs cook more evenly
  • Apply a Binder and Season
    • Baby Back Ribs are one of the only ribs we’ll add a binder to, because it really helps bring out the color!
    • Starting on the bottom of the ribs, apply a line of yellow mustard across each one and then rub it in.
    • Apply a heavy coat of our Smoke ‘n Magic Pork Rub. It has an amazing flavors offering the perfect balance of sweetness and heat.
    • Let the rub “sweat in” for about 10 minutes, allowing the mustard to really cling to the seasoning
    • Flip the ribs over, and repeat the process on the top side!
  • Smoke
    • We use a pellet grill for our Baby Backs, starting at a low temperature of 250° to really allow the grill to smoke up. We’ll crank up the temperature once we get to the wrap stage!
    • Place your ribs on cooking racks and cook at 250° for 3 hours, spritzing them every hour to help them stay moist
  • Wrap
    • Lay down a sheet of aluminum foil, large enough to wrap your ribs
    • On the foil, place:
      • 1 stick of salted Kerrygold butter, cut in half
      • Smoke ‘n Magic Southern Twang BBQ sauce
      • A drizzle of Agave
      • A big sprinkle of our Smoke ‘n Magic Pork Rub
      • A sprinkle of Sugar in the Raw, since we’ll be cooking at high temperatures for this next stage.
  • Cook and Glaze
    • Wrap your ribs in your foil, top side down, and then place back in your smoker at 300° for an additional 1 hour and 20 minutes.
    • Remove and unwrap the top of your ribs and pour some Smoke’n Magic Spicy sauce over the top and add them, as is, back onto your smoker for about 10 minutes until they’re glazed to perfection!
